Market Notes

Compared to last week steers and heifers sold steady to 6.00 lower. Demand was good for a moderate supply and the quality was attractive with mostly weaned calves and a few consignments of yearlings. The cattle under 500 lbs weren't quite as well tested and didn't reach last week's top prices with the heat playing a slight factor in demand as well. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold 4.00-5.00 lower.

Supply included: 91% Feeder Cattle (37% Steers, 62% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 7% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (22% Stock Cows, 78% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 31%.
