Compared to last week, steers sold firm to 5.00 higher with spots up to 8.00 higher on some of the higher quality or thinner fleshed calves under 600 lbs. Heifers sold steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good for several consignments of fancy calves and a couple loads of yearling heifers. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 higher.
Supply included: 86% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 49% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (96% Cows, 4% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.
