Market Notes

Compared to last week, a light test of steers and heifers sold steady. Supply was light with mostly smaller packages of new crop calves offered but a few yearlings were on hand. Demand was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady to firm, but with spots 3.00 higher on the higher dressing kind.

Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (49% Steers, 51% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 13% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (63% Stock Cows, 38% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28%.
