Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded mostly steady with spots 3.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good for a moderate supply of weaned calves and some yearlings coming off grass. Cooler temperatures and most in the area receiving some moisture has been a welcome relief. Slaughter cows sold steady, bulls 3.00-5.00 higher.

Supply included: 91% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 50% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 8% Slaughter Cattle (84% Cows, 16% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 49%.
