Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded mostly steady but with a few spots up to 5.00 higher on the steers and spots uneven from 3.00 higher to 3.00 lower on the heifers. Demand was good for a moderate to heavy supply with the majority of the offering being moderate sized groups of calves weighing from 400-650 lbs. The volatility in the corn market continued on Wednesday with most contracts down near 20 cents, but feeder cattle closed lower again as well. Slaughter cows sold firm to 2.00 higher, bulls steady.

Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (56% Steers, 43% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (71% Cows, 29% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 26%.
