Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers weighing 500-625 lbs traded mostly 5.00-10.00 higher to make it back to the price levels of two weeks ago following last weeks softer market. Yearling steers traded steady and heifers sold firm to 5.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for the higher quality black hided 500-700 lb cattle and moderate for the colored's and/or anything a little plainer or carrying some flesh. Slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher, bulls steady.

Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 51% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 7% Slaughter Cattle (90% Cows, 10% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 45%.
