Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to firm. More yearling cattle were in the mix this week, including two straight loads of 850 lb steers selling in one shot. The quality of most of the calves offered was good, but not in the quantity seen last week. Demand was good. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold 4.00-5.00 higher.

Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (64% Steers, 35% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 6% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (50% Stock Cows, 50% Bred Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 53%.
