Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Steer calves 10.00 to 15.00 higher, with instances of 20.00 to 25.00, except 700-750 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Heifer calves 7.00 to 10.00 higher, instances of 20.00 higher. Too few yearlings to make any price comparisons. Very good demand for this large offering of spring born calves, many long strings including full load lots and multiple load lots, while also numerous smaller consignments. The overall quality was very attractive this week, flesh condition ranged from light to moderate, the cold weather and recent snow storm greened calves up a notch and left them in an eye appealing light flesh condition. The market was very active as the cash fed cattle market saw some cattle sell up to 158.00, giving much hope to cattle feeders for the coming months in the fat market. Next feeder sale will be Dec 8, 2022 expecting 4,000 head of feeders.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (63% Steers, 37% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 25%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 11/17/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 5,386 3,562 3,530 Feeder Cattle: 5,386(100.0%) 3,562(100.0%) 3,530(100.0%)
