North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

3/12/2022

Total Run: 7,132

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers under 700 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower, over 700 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Good demand remains yet for light weight, and light fleshed, steers and heifers to run on grass as yearlings. Demand only moderate for steers and heifers bound for feedyards. The rapid rise in the corn market has created much concern for cattle feeders, along with the unexpected downturn in the Live Cattle futures.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (65% Steers, 34% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79%.
