Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers were steady to 2.00 lower, feeder heifers steady to 2.00 higher. There was a good to moderate demand for all classes of cattle in today's auction. Moderate demand for the large offering of quality replacement heifers. Buyers were able to buy multiple loads of one owner cattle, with one consignment of ten loads in the same sort. Lots of part loads and packages were available for today's auction as well. A more active market on the full loads, especially the light fleshed cattle. Several consignments of reputation quality replacement heifers continue to see good demand. A lack luster cash fed cattle market continues to plague the feeder cattle market. Next feeder sale will be Friday, June 4th. This will be the 24th annual WLAC Anniversary Sale. Expecting a very large run on all classes of feeder cattle and replacement heifers.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 49% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 88%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 5/7/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 6,550 6,098 4,930 Feeder Cattle: 6,550(100.0%) 6,098(100.0%) 4,930(100.0%)
