Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers were mostly steady with a good offering of steers and heifers today. Holstein slaughter steers and heifers were trending higher with some high quality Holsteins this week. Cows were 1.00 to 8.00 higher with a good offering breaker cows and bulls had instances of higher/lower. Feeder steers were significantly lower with feeder heifers instances of higher/lower and feeder bulls significantly higher with a good offering of fancy type feeders this week.

Supply included: 31% Feeder Cattle (35% Steers, 34% Heifers, 30% Bulls); 69% Slaughter Cattle (34% Steers, 4% Dairy Steers, 28% Heifers, 28% Cows, 3% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers, 1% Bullocks). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 48%.
