Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls traded 4.00-6.00 higher. Demand was good on a light supply. Supplies were light due to the heavy snow across the area Tuesday night which resulted in a power outage at ORS until late Wednesday afternoon. The USDA's Cold Storage Report released today reported beef in freezers up 4 percent from last month and 7 percent higher than a year ago.
Supply included: 63% Slaughter Cattle (88% Cows, 12% Bulls); 37% Replacement Cattle (26% Stock Cows, 61% Bred Cows, 7% Bred Heifers, 6% Cow-Calf Pairs).
