Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded 4.00-6.00 lower and slaughter bulls traded 4.00 lower. Demand was good on a very heavy supply of slaughter cows and a moderate supply of slaughter bulls and replacement cattle. Receipts exceeded previous records for the Wednesday Replacement/Slaughter Auction at Ozarks Regional Stockyard as producers continue to struggle with drought conditions across the area. The bulk of the offering was average dressing and low dressing lean cows.

Supply included: 73% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 27% Replacement Cattle (54% Stock Cows, 33% Bred Cows, 12% Cow-Calf Pairs, 0% Bulls).
