Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls traded steady. Demand was good on a moderate supply of slaughter animals and bred cows and a light supply of pairs. Receipts were lighter than normal as many producers took advantage of the hot and dry weather to harvest hay.

Supply included: 71% Slaughter Cattle (94% Cows, 6% Bulls); 29% Replacement Cattle (41% Stock Cows, 41% Bred Cows, 19% Cow-Calf Pairs).
