Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers sold steady except for the 550-600 lb weight range 5.00-8.00 higher and heifers sold 3.00-6.00 higher. Demand was good for a moderate supply of calves and yearlings. The majority of calves are coming to town weaned at least 30 days now, and they found the best demand. Slaughter cows and bulls sold uneven from 3.00 higher to 2.00 lower with the bulls and fleshier cows seeing the gain.

Supply included: 82% Feeder Cattle (42% Steers, 55% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 16% Slaughter Cattle (77% Cows, 23% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (67% Stock Cows, 33% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 33%.
