Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers sold fully steady except for specifically the 550-600 lb steers trading 5.00 higher. Heifer calves sold steady to 7.00 lower following last weeks higher market and some of the extreme top prices seen last week weren't quite reached on a very heavy supply, yearling heifers traded steady to 2.00 lower. Demand was good to very good and trade was active from start to finish as the ring was full of preconditioned, reputation cattle all day. Appealing cattle prices, high priced feed and nice weather created a large run of cattle with several consignors selling sooner than normal. An additional 250 head of slaughter cows and bulls were not reported due to the large supply of feeders.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (54% Steers, 0% Dairy Steers, 45% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 51%.
