Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady. The higher quality cattle that had been weaned and vaccinated found good demand, including a load of 740 lb steers, but overall the quality wasn't as attractive as usual with several consignments of bulls or un-weaned calves offered. Supply was moderate.

Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (42% Steers, 41% Heifers, 17% Bulls); 14% Slaughter Cattle (81% Cows, 19% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 38%.
