Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 4.00 higher. A mix of both calves and yearlings made up a moderate supply. Several smaller to medium sized groups of yearlings coming off grass are still showing up and finding very good demand, while the good grass and nice weather is keeping several calves at home. Calves sold with moderate to good demand. Slaughter cows sold uneven with the fleshier cows selling steady and lean and boning cows 3.00-4.00 lower, bulls sold 2.00 lower.

Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 45% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (80% Cows, 20% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (70% Stock Cows, 30% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 52%.
