Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers traded steady to 7.00 higher with the gain on some lighter calves under 550 lbs and also the feedlot bound yearlings. Heifers sold steady to 3.00 higher. A couple loads of yearlings were on hand along with some quality calves and both found good demand with an attractive futures market moving forward for both Live and Feeder Cattle. Supply was light to moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 87% Feeder Cattle (55% Steers, 42% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 12% Slaughter Cattle (89% Cows, 11% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 63%.
