Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers traded steady to 4.00 higher and heifers sold steady with the exception of the high prices on the 4 weights last week replaced with a higher market on the light 5 weight calves. Several loads and packages of yearlings were on offer and the market was active with good demand for them. Demand was good for the calves as well, supply was heavy. Slaughter cows sold firm to 4.00 higher.

Supply included: 90% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 41% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Cattle (96% Cows, 4% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 62%.
