Market Notes

Compared to last week, the majority of steers and heifers traded 3.00-6.00 higher but with spots up to 10.00 higher on the mid weight steers weighing 475-650 lbs. Demand was very good as the quality and condition was attractive with long weaned calves and yearlings making up the majority of the offering. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold sold steady to 3.00 higher.

Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 51% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Cattle (82% Cows, 18% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (45% Stock Cows, 55% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 43%.
