Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded mostly steady to spots 5.00 higher, mainly of the yearlings. Some of the extreme top prices seen last week on steer calves weren't achieved on a slightly lighter run that didn't feature large groups but demand was good to very good, especially for grazing type cattle and there were several on hand in thin condition. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.006.00 higher.

Supply included: 95% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 50% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 4% Slaughter Cattle (74% Cows, 26% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (67% Stock Cows, 33% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 43%.
