Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded steady except for the loads of yearling heifers selling up to 5.00 higher. Demand was good for a heavy supply. One of the several sale highlights was a multi load lot of 354 head of 732 lb all black yearling heifers that traded hands at 150.35. Several other loads and quality consignments of yearlings and calves were on hand and overall the quality was excellent. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 51% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 2% Slaughter Cattle (88% Cows, 12% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (13% Stock Cows, 88% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 77%.
