Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher, except 700-750 lbs 5.00 to 6.00 higher. Feeder heifers unevenly steady. Good demand for this nice offering of attractive, light to moderate fleshed steers and heifers. There were many long strings of steers and heifers, including full loads and multiple load lots, along with numerous smaller consignments. The market was most active on the full loads and the light weight cattle that can go to grass. The cash fed cattle and April Live Cattle futures contract continue to disappoint cattle feeders, which is keeping pressure on the feeder cattle market. Many replacement quality heifers in this week's line up, but the uncertainty of a full grazing season is very concerning. The next feeder cattle sale will be in two weeks, April 21, 2022.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (46% Steers, 54% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 73%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/24/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,066 2,765 4,553 Feeder Cattle: 3,066(100.0%) 2,765(100.0%) 4,553(100.0%)
