Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers under 700 lbs 10.00 to 20.00 higher, over 700 lbs mostly steady. Feeder heifers 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Very good demand for this nice offering of high quality, long time weaned and fully preconditioned steers and heifers. Many long strings of steers and heifers, including full loads and multiple load lots. Many replacement quality heifers were offered and were met with outstanding demand as there were many buyers on the seats looking to purchase replacements. The market was the most active on cattle in light enough flesh and weight to run on grass this summer. The supply of this class of cattle is much more limited and buyers have to battle to get these packages bought to piece together a load. The market was still active on the the heavier cattle bound for feedyards, but there are many more of these cattle offered for sale currently and buyers don't have to fight so hard to get them bought. Next feeder cattle special sale will be March 3, 2022.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 38% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 81%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/10/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,919 1,132 3,073 Feeder Cattle: 3,919(100.0%) 1,132(100.0%) 3,073(100.0%)
