Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00 to 8.00 lower, instances to 10.00 lower on 550-600 lbs and 750-800 lbs. Feeder heifers steady to 4.00 lower. Demand more moderate this week as this week's sale had fewer of those long strings of really eye appealing cattle, there were some full loads offered but there were many more smaller consignments with many offered in small packages. As the overall quality was somewhat reduced this week the flesh condition was also a tick heavier. There were still some light fleshed consignments but there were more cattle carrying a moderate plus amount. Cattle feeders are also feeling a little more defensive as the cash fed cattle market fails to perform to their expectations which combined with the other mentioned factors resulted in a lower market this week.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (54% Steers, 46% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 57%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 1/13/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,548 5,020 3,059 Feeder Cattle: 2,548(100.0%) 5,020(100.0%) 3,059(100.0%)
