Market Notes
Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 550 lbs 10.00 to 20.00 higher, 550-650 lbs 8.00 to 12.00 higher, over 650 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder heifers 4.00 to 5.00 higher, except 450-500 lbs 10.00 higher. Very good demand for this much lighter offering as the cold, frigid weather kept many cattle producers from shipping their cattle to town. As the Feeder Cattle futures contracts for the summer and fall months have risen above 200.00, interest in light weight cattle to make yearlings of has really increased.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 34% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 53%.
