North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

6/12/2021

Total Run: 3,741

Market Notes

Compared to last week; No weights well tested for comparison in feeder steers. Feeder heifers 750-900lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Only 1 reported feeder cattle auction this week, many full loads of yearlings in this week's offering as yearling operators are being forced to sell cattle early due to the devastating drought conditions. Good buyer demand remains, in light of 7.00 cash corn and a fat market stuck at 120.00. The back months of the futures contracts are shining some light at the end of the tunnel and cattle feeders want to have cattle ready to hit those markets. Flesh conditions remain light to moderate which is helping to keep feedyard costs of gains as low as possible. Supply

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 64% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 93%.
