North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

6/5/2021

Total Run: 2,471

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Only 1 reported auction, most weights not well tested for comparison. Feeder steers 550-600lbs 4.00 to 6.00 higher, 950-1000lbs 1.00 lower. Feeder heifers 500-550lbs and 750-800lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Flesh condition light to moderate. Good demand for those light fleshed yearling grass cattle, that are being sold early due to the devastating drought conditions. Cattle feeders are hopeful for a better fat cattle market buy the 4th quarter of the year and are eager to buy cattle to fit that time period. The costs of gain are very worrisome as it has risen above the current price of fat cattle.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (34% Steers, 62% Heifers, 4% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 75%.
