Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 higher, feeder heifers under 500 lbs steady to 4.00 higher, over 500 lbs 3.00 to 8.00 higher. Good demand for this nice offering of high quality, eye appealing steers and heifers. Flesh conditions were light, overall, which made the cattle even more appealing. Many long strings, with several full loads, including a large offering of replacement quality heifers. CME Feeder Cattle futures gained 2.00, yet April Live Cattle continues to disappoint as the back months of the board are much higher. As turnout time is just two months away yearling operators are pushing harder get their feeder cattle needs met, while they can find sizable numbers of them, which makes for a very active and extremely competitive market. Next feeder cattle special will be March 26, 2021.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (34% Steers, 66% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 35%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/26/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,834 2,725 1,598 Feeder Cattle: 2,834(100.0%) 2,725(100.0%) 1,598(100.0%)
