Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 700 lbs steady to 5.00 higher, over 700 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs sold with a firm undertone, over 500 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for this nice offering of longtime weaned steers and heifers, many long strings with several full load lots. Overall quality was very attractive, as the cattle were clean, long haired, and light fleshed with just a couple consignments carrying a moderate plus amount. There were more buyers this week which really helped to make for an active market. Triple digit losses in the CME Live and Cattle futures added pressure to the market. Next special feeder cattle sale will be March 12th, bred cows and heifers next week.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 52% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 40%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/19/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,725 2,260 909 Feeder Cattle: 2,725(100.0%) 2,260(100.0%) 909(100.0%)
