Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 850 to 950 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Yearling heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for today's yearling offering selling in mostly strings and loads off grass. Dry grass conditions has kept most of these cattle green. Quality varied, but mostly average to attractive. Today was the first offering of spring calves and these were met with moderate to good demand. A variety of flesh, quality, and preconditioning offered. Buyers are more willing to overlook a lack of shots if the quality is good, otherwise calves without shots were discounted at times. An active market with order buyers and a few farmer feeders, lots of farmers still harvesting. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 28.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (77% Steers, 23% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 68%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 10/14/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 4,135 3,097 4,171 Feeder Cattle: 4,135(100.0%) 3,097(100.0%) 4,171(100.0%)
