Market Notes

Compared to last week: a lighter offering this week with many weight classes not well compared to develop an accurate price trend, lower undertones noted on both steers and heifers. Quite a few loads and many packages of home raised cattle made up the offering today. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. Flesh mostly moderate to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. Some tag seen of some of the cattle as lots thaw, especially cattle coming from farther north where there was quite a bit more snow. A moderate to active market today. A wind advisory in effect today which could hinder truck travel. Several more windy days in the forecast for next week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, April 1.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (63% Steers, 37% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 83%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/18/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,785 3,773 4,036 Feeder Cattle: 1,785(100.0%) 3,773(100.0%) 4,036(100.0%)
