Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on steers 600 to 650 lbs and 700 to 850 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Heifers not well compared this week. A large offering this week featuring many loads and packages of home raised cattle and a couple strings of backgrounded cattle. Grass type cattle see very good demand, especially those sold in load lots. Good to very good demand for feeding type cattle. Flesh varied, but mostly light to moderate plus, less flesh overall than last week. Quality mostly average to attractive today, most of the cattle were clean hided and open haired despite the thaw the area has seen due to the warm weather all week. An active market with the normal crowd of buyers and farmer feeders attending the sale. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, March 25.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 43% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 91%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/11/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,773 1,991 3,605 Feeder Cattle: 3,773(100.0%) 1,991(100.0%) 3,605(100.0%)
