Market Notes

Compared to last week, feeder steers traded 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs were 3.00 to 5.00 higher, over 500 were mostly steady. Feeder bulls were 3.00 to 7.00 higher. Supply was good with several offerings of quality cattle on all ranges this week. Fleshy cattle were sold at a discount with the summer heat here, weaned lighter fleshed cattle were more desirable to the buyers. No trend is available on cows or slaughter bulls due to time constraints.

Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (33% Steers, 52% Heifers, 15% Bulls); 15% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 23%.
