Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady. Feeder heifers under 400 lbs. 10.00-15.00 lower; over 400 lbs. 2.00-5.00 lower. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00-3.00 higher. Had a attractive set of value added cattle; rest of the offering was average. Buyer participation was active on attractive cattle; plainer cattle not as desired. Market was good considering grain prices have been on a steady incline along with softer feeder cattle futures.

Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 38% Heifers, 6% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (57% Bred Cows, 43% Bred Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 19%.
