Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00-10.00 lower. Feeder heifers 2.00-4.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls steady to 2.00 higher. Quality was plain. Grain futures continue to rise, putting more pressure on cattle prices. Demand was softer.
Supply included: 71% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 31% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 27% Slaughter Cattle (87% Cows, 13% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (17% Stock Cows, 83% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 18%.
