Market Notes

Compared to last week: Stocker steers under 500 lb sold mixed from 4.00 lower to 6.00 higher. Feeder steers over 500 lb sold steady to 6.00 higher. Stocker heifers under 500 lb sold 4.00 to 9.00 higher. Feeder heifers over 500 lb were 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 10.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were mostly 5.00 higher. Supply was moderate with quality of calves and yearlings being average. A larger number of replacements cows were offered today.

Supply included: 58% Feeder Cattle (38% Steers, 41% Heifers, 21% Bulls); 18% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 24% Replacement Cattle (40% Stock Cows, 48% Bred Cows, 4% Bred Heifers, 9% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 16%.
