Compared to last week: Feeder steers and bulls under 500 lb sold 5.00 to 7.00 lower, over 500 lb were steady to 5.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 500 lb sold steady to 5.00 lower, over 500 lb were mostly steady. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady. Slaughter bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower. Supply was moderate. Buyer demand was lighter with severe heat present in central Arkansas and forecasted for the rest of the week.
Supply included: 73% Feeder Cattle (31% Steers, 38% Heifers, 31% Bulls); 22% Slaughter Cattle (80% Cows, 20% Bulls); 5% Replacement Cattle (11% Stock Cows, 44% Bred Cows, 14% Bred Heifers, 31% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 22%.
