Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and bulls under 500 lb sold steady to 5.00 lower, over 500 lb were mostly steady. Feeder heifers sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were 3.00 to 8.00 higher. Supply was moderate demand was strong for grass ready cattle . Noticed a few more new crop calves than last week that were discounted for being fleshy.

Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (23% Steers, 52% Heifers, 25% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (70% Cows, 30% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (10% Stock Cows, 68% Bred Cows, 3% Bred Heifers, 19% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 14%.
