Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

Archived Report

7/1/2023

Total Run: 10,772

Market Notes

Compared to last week, there were quite a few more feeder cattle offered with demand good to very good and feeder calves selling sharply higher compared to last week's light test. Prices were very strong across the range of light feeders all the way to long yearlings as feedlots continue to look for cattle to fill pens. The state continues to see a wide variety of drought conditions, as the west has been fairly wet and even receiving some hail storms in the southwest corner, the central part of the state being fairly decent with moderate rainfall and a very dry east.

Supply included: 94% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 47% Heifers); 6% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 76%.
