Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers sold mostly steady, instances 1.00 to 3.00 higher on weights over 800 lbs. Heifers sold steady excepts 600 and 900 lbs sold 2.00 lower. Demand was mostly good throughout the week. Majority of the weights under 600 lbs on steers and heifers were bawling spring calves. Some had fall shots and others only branding time shots. Nebraska feedlots traded live sales 2.00 to 3.00 lower from 125.00-126.00 and dressed sales steady to 5.00 lower from 200.00-203.00. The large decline was on the top side of the market.

Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 42% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 2% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows); 0% Replacement Cattle (84% Bred Cows, 16% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79%.
