Market Notes

Compared to last week weaned fall calves sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher on steers and heifers. Yearling steers from 700 to 900 lbs sold 3.00 to 5.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold steady. Yearling heifers sold steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good for all offerings. Hot, mostly dry weather across most of the state the last several weeks. There are some areas of the state that continue to get some rain and look rather good for the second week of August. Feedlot sales sold 2.00 higher on live and dressed sales at 125.00 and 198.00 respectively.

Supply included: 95% Feeder Cattle (55% Steers, 45% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 2% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows); 3% Replacement Cattle (64% Bred Cows, 27% Bred Heifers, 8% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 91%.
