Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

Archived Report

5/22/2021

Total Run: 11,448

Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers under 700 lbs sold 7.00 to 9.00 higher, over 700 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Most lots of heifers sold unevenly steady, except over 800 lbs sold 4.00 lower. Rather large offering this week with quite a few weaned and bawling fall calves with some yearling cattle in the mix. Only a few cow/calf pairs on the report. Demand was good for light weight cattle with moderate to good for feeder cattle. Weekly auction receipts will sharply decline as reporting auctions have moved to their summer schedule of every other week, or once a month for special sales. Nebraska feedlots sold live sales steady with last week at mostly 120.00 to 121.00 and dressed sales from 190.00 to 191.00. Next release date will be June 1, due to the Memorial day Holiday on Monday.

Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (61% Steers, 39% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 7% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 72%.
