Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 2.00 to 4.00 higher and slaughter heifers 1.00 to 4.00 higher this week. No comparison on Holstein slaughter steers today. Cows had instances of higher/lower and bulls 2.00 higher. Feeder steers were 4.00 lower with feeder heifers sharply lower and feeder bulls trending lower but good value on fancy type feeder bulls.

Supply included: 29% Feeder Cattle (10% Steers, 44% Heifers, 46% Bulls); 71% Slaughter Cattle (37% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 33% Heifers, 22% Cows, 7% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 29%.
