Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers were trending higher with slaughter heifers mostly steady and a good offering high quality steers and heifers. No Holstein slaughter steers this week. Cows were 2.00 to 7.00 higher and bulls were 8.00 higher with still good demand for grind product. Feeder steers were 4.00 higher and feeder heifers had instances of higher/lower with feeder bulls trending lower.

Supply included: 15% Feeder Cattle (32% Steers, 45% Heifers, 24% Bulls); 85% Slaughter Cattle (55% Steers, 28% Heifers, 11% Cows, 6% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.
