Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 1.00 higher with slaughter heifers 3.00 to 4.00 higher with a good offering of high quality steers and heifers today. Holstein slaughter steers had instances of higher/lower. Cows and bulls were too few to compare last week but were trading sharply higher this week. All classes of feeder calves were too few last week to compare but were trending lower today with a good offering dairy feeders today.
Supply included: 25% Feeder Cattle (5% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 38% Heifers, 16% Bulls, 39% Dairy Heifers); 75% Slaughter Cattle (49% Steers, 8% Dairy Steers, 23% Heifers, 16% Cows, 1% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers, 1% Bullocks). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 36%.
