Compared to last week, feeder steers under 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 6.00 lower; over 600 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder heifers overall sold 3.00 to 6.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Demand overall was good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feedyards sold 1.00 higher at 136.00. Compared to the last report, prices for alfalfa and grass hay bumped up again for all regions. Pricing remains all over the map and not much has settled in yet with a wide variance between east (rain) and west (no rain). Demand is high and is coming from in state and out of state buyers, as western Kansas and surrounding states drought conditions continue to worsen.

Supply included: 98% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 47% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 2% Slaughter Cattle (85% Cows, 15% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 86%.
