Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly 5.00 higher. Calves were too lightly tested for a market trend, but a weaker undertone was noted. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly steady. Trading activity was moderate to active on good demand. Hot and dry conditions have returned to the trading area, but there is a chance of rain in the forecast over the weekend and into the first part of next week.

Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 49% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 3% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 68%.
