Market Notes

Compared to last week, feeders sold steady to 5.00 higher. The supply of feeders was heavy with more cattle across all weight ranges this week. Demand was good especially for the feather weight thinner fleshed calves. Bidding was active from start to finish of a long day coming from both buyers setting in the seats and from those placing bids over the internet. Overall quality wasn't quite as attractive as last week and some of the tops on the mid weight steers wasn't met this week but overall the market was undoubtedly stronger. Slaughter cows sold steady.

Supply included: 87% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 46% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 12% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (44% Stock Cows, 47% Bred Cows, 9% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 31%.
